The courses in Mao-Study are cont inuing but there are indications that the normal training programme will shortly be resumed.

On 19th January the Border Defence Regiment was inspected by a senior officer probably from Wai Chow.

A proportion of troops appear to have been replaced by soldiers from outside the Regiment. This change-over usually takes place in the early months of the year. A possible intake of recruits has also been noted.
11.
The estimated Chinese military threat to the Colony remains unchanged.
