pilot (and which the British Government foregoes).

8. Although this additional charge comes into force on 1st April 1968 the British

Government does not propose to ask for it to be paid in respect of individual pilots

who are already on loan at the present time. Reimbursement of the charge will only

be sought in respect of the services of pilots who may be required when those now on

loan complete their currently agreed tours of duty. Pilots at present on loan to

Brunei are not due to finish their loan periods until September 1968, October 1968,

April 1969 and July 1969 respectively and, in consequence, the new charges will only

become payable by the Brunei Government from these respective dates should the Brunei
