Dormant Commission
Hsu
The Governor referred to the dormant commission drawn
up some time ago under which he had to hand over to the Commander
British Forces and leave the Colony himself if it seemed likely that
there would be a prolonged period of armed hostilities. He said that
in those circumstances he would have no intention of leaving the
Colony. He had written to the Commonwealth Office about this.
