SIR CHARLES ELWORTHY said that they were most grateful to Sir David Trench for setting out so clearly the present situation in Hong Kong and for giving them his views on some of the other problems with which they were faced. These would be fully taken into account in their future studies.
The Committee:
(1) Warmly endorsed the remarks of the Chief of the Defence Staff.
(2) Invited the Air Force Department to set in hand
a study on the feasibility of a small air defence force in Hong Kong as at a. above.
