4. There may be other considerations in favour of sending the Battalion accompanied in June despite the Governor's preference for it going unaccompanied. But it would help us to make up our minds to have answers to the questions that I have set out above; and it would be helpful if you and David Wilson (Far Eastern Department, Foreign Office) could let us have views within the next few days.
