de-register the school, and the second was
made after de-registration had taken place.
However, both protests were relatively
restrained and the Chinese took the matter no
further. But the de-registration of a
particular school for specific acts of
lawlessness is a different matter from tough
and overt action aimed at communist education
in general. There is very little doubt that
any such campaign which singled out communist
schools for attention would cause a very sharp
reaction indeed on the part of both the local
communists
