Kao Hsin Chairman of Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission (under direct control of central authorities official Central News Agency) on 12 July said "Government" was ready to supply all daily needs of overseas Chinese communities in Hong Kong "including rice meat vegetables and fruit".
3. According to Press reports yesterday Yuan (Cabinet) at a meeting on 14 July heard a report on Hong Kong situation from Kao Hsin and decided to provide material support for the Hong Kong Chinese.
4. When asked about Hong Kong's water shortage at a Press conference on 20 July Kao Hsin openly reported to have said that if the Hong Kong authorities were to send transports to Keelung or Kaohsiung "Government of the Republic of China" would supply water gratis and without conditions.
