Miscellaneous Idoaa and Suggestions
We are awaiting the Governor's further thoughts on one of two suggestions ho made in London i.c. the grant of the title "Royal" to the Hong Kong Police Force, the training of bomb disposal toans in the United Kingdom.
Ono suggestion made by the Governor was that senior Parliamontary figures should make occasional friendly references to Hong Kong. The Secretary of State is being asked to mention this to Mr. Anthony Royle, M.P., Chairman of the Informal Hong Kong Parliamentary Group, whom he is seeing on Monday, 16th October. It may additionally be desirable for the Secretary of Statc and the Minister of State to speak to one or two of their colleagues in duc course.
