Second Round of Consultations with Hong Kong
Government
It has proved necessary to defer these for a week longer than had been planned, and they will now begin at 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday, 24 October, in the Ground Floor Conference Room, Commonwealth Office, Downing Street.
2. While the consultations are in progress, meetings will

is set to the duration of the consultations, but it is hoped to complete them in two, or at the most three, days.
3. The British delegation will be led by Sir Arthur Snelling and the Hong Kong delegation by Mr. J. J. Cowperthwaite, the Financial Secretary.
4.
I should be grateful if the Board of Trade could be represented at the meetings, and in particular, if you could be ready to field G.A.T.T. and textile experts as necessary from the second session onwards. I doubt whether it will be necessary for other Departments to send representatives unless they would particularly like to or unless a specific need arises.
5. A revised version of the brief circulated under cover of Audland's letter of 9 August to Gildea will be circulated later, and in good time for the meeting.
