Import Restrictiong

If, owing to its obligations arising from the Treaty Establishing the European Economic Community of 25 March, 1957, and in particular on account of the Council'a decision on winimur prices of 4 April, 1962, and Ordinance No. 23 concerning the gradual establishment of a coupon market organisation for fruit and vegetables of 4 April, 1962, the Government of the Federal Republic of Gerany shoulJ be obliged to take measures to rest.ict imports of fruit and vegetables from third countries, these measures will, to the extent required, apply also to imports from the United Kingdom and its Tependent Overseas Recitorios.

Betterment Clause

1. The Governcent of the Federal Republic of Germany is preparev, at the request of the Government of the United Kingdon, to give favourable consideration to providing additional import opportunities, if the ouotas for

(a) canne and bottled fruit and fruit juice, and (b) canned and bottled marmalases, other jaze and

table jellies

should not be sufficient to meet the import "equirements of the Federal Republic of Germany.

2. The Government of the Feueral Republic of Germany is prepared at the request of the Government of the United Xingice of Great Britain and Northern Irelant to give sympathetic consideration to proviúlag additional import opportunities for fresh or prepared fruit and vegetables
