At the request of the Commerce and Industry Department, Hong Kong, I am enclosing two copies of a letter from Mr. J.H.Martin, who deals with Hong Kong's commercial relations at the British Embassy in Brussels, to Mr. R. Verhagen of the Ministry of Economic Affairs at the Hague. Mr. Verhagen led a Benelux delegation to Hong Kong last July to discuss textile problems and at these discussions the question of Hong Kong's ship- ments of umbrellas to the Benelux countries was raised. Full statistical information was not available at the time but has now been supplied to Mr. Verhagen in Mr. Martin's letter.
