Dear David
You will recall that the Prime Minister wrote to Lieutenant-Commander Lynch Maydon, M.P., on May 6 about a new name for the Hong Kong Police. Lieutenant-Commander Maydon has now written to ask whether any conclusion has yet been reached about the new name, and I should be grateful for your advice on how the Prime Minister should reply.
It would be helpful if you could let me have your comments by Friday morning, as this would enable the Prime Minister to reply before he goes on holiday.
