CONFIDENT IAL

5, It would be helpful if the officer visiting Macao could make sure that the Consul has a copy of Mr. Hampshire's circular letter, DSC 145/5, of 30th June, 1965, which refers to security measures to be taken in the event of a withdrawal. In this connection, if the Consul thinks it advisable, would it be possible for the Officer visiting Macao to take back to Hong Kong any documents of special importance from the Consulate's archives?

(Pass to D.S.A.0. for Peking)
