You may also like to have the enclosed copy of a translation of a letter dated 13 August from the Secretary General, The Preparatory Committee of Hong Kong and Kowloon Various Circles for the Celebration of the 19th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, and of the reply dated 24 August which was sent by the Police. We do not yet know what line the Communists intend to take over the October 1st celebration.
I am sending a copy of this letter to James Murray of the Far Eastern Department.
