The remainder of the money was finally used by I.C.I. to

help pay for an exhibition they held in Tientain in September,

1965. Other cases, involving the payment of War Damage claims

for property in China into accounts in Hong Kong were also

mentioned. Although we have received no reports of the

investigation of "crimes" since July, Er. Self and his wife

still await exit visas, in spite of repeated representations

on their behalf.

18. We are in retaliation withholding British entry visas

for two senior officials of the Eank of China in London.
