U.S. Naval activities.

On the point mentioned in paragraph 2, situation is that, because of reclamation work, only small vessels can now use the pier area where the U.S. sailors usually land. When big ships such as ENTERPRISE visit, the American authorities hire large ferries to bring the sailors ashore, and they are at present being brought into the jetty at H.M.S. TAMAR. American shore patrols have been on duty at the gates of TAMAR checking their sailors as they come back from shore leave.

There is no question of TAMAR being used for any other purpose, e.g. provisioning or supply.
