Attention Glover.

Two people were arrested by a party of detectives in wing Lok Street at its junction with Des Voeux Road Central just after half past one this afternoon when a crowd of about three hundred people gathered in area,

Demonstrators who were carrying banners with inflammatory slogans attacked the detectives before dispersing.

During incident a detective police constable was shot in the thigh.

He was admitted to hospital and was operated on.

The shot, which came from a revolver was the only one that was fired during incident, However police do not believe it was fired by someone in crowd,

Just before this there was an explosion in compound of Central Police Station. Explosion was caused by one of two bombs which were thrown into compound from Old Bailey Street, Other did not explode. Another bomb was found in Old Bailey Street on other side of compound wall. No (repeat no) one was injured.

At about same time two bombs were round on pedestrian crossing in Pedder Street at its junction with Queen's Road Central. They were detonated by Army ammunition experts. There were no (repeat no casualties. It is now learned that the condition of the injured detective police constable is satisfactory.
