282345 Attention Glover. The police carried out searches on four Communist schools on both sides of harbour tonight, Tuesday. The schools searched were Fukian Middle School and Hon Wah Middle School on Hong Kong Island and Mong Kok Workers' Childrens' School and Heung To Middle School in Kowloon. At Fukien Middle School, an object made to resemble a bomb and with a warning notice on it was found. It has not (not) been determined whether it is genuine or hoax. Two persons, a 27-year old man and an 18-year old girl were detained by police for enquiries; at Mong Kok Workers' Childrens' School an ammunition expert detonated a suspicious object. Altogether one hundred and eight people including several teachers were being questioned by police late tonight. No reports of bombs had been received from other two schools. A police spokesman said that the searches were carried out because it was believed that bombs such as those which had killed or injured innocent people including school children were being made or stored in those places. It was the responsibility of Government to act upon such information when alternative was to risk further wanton violence. The spokesman continued "this action also follows explosion of a bomb which injured a boy at the Chung Wah Middle School last Monday night"
Ends.
Informs.
