Peoples Daily of 3 June carries four other articles on Hong Kong.

2. The first reports a 50000 strong demonstration in Canton in support of the Hong Kong anti-persecution struggle committee. The second article reports a meeting in Hong Kong on 1 June to announce the setting up of a Students Struggle Committee to oppose persecution by Hong Kong British authorities. Meeting adopted a "declaration to students throughout Hong Kong" which calls for propagation of Mao's Thought opposition to slavish education promoted by Hong Kong British authorities and makes five point demand including acceptance of Foreign Ministry's five point demand of 15 May.

3. Third item reports publication in Peking of statement on 30 May by Malayan Alliance for National Liberation condemning British actions in Hong Kong and fourth relates how Captain of British merchant vessel "Big Jewel" (Ta Pao Shis) was compelled to apologise to his Chinese crew for tearing up anti-British slogans while ship was in Port at Canton.
