It should be borne in mind that the Chancellor frequently has informal

meetings on these occasions with other countries' Finance Ministers,

and needs background information to cover these, especially on the trends

of trade, investment and aid. This information should be included in

Country Notes where appropriate.

7. A separate note will follow on the numbering of Country Notes.

Meanwhile, Departments are asked to indicate by 16 August on which

countries they will be providing Country Notes.

Departments should clear with Commonwealth Financial Policy Department

and 0.D.H. any aid point relevant to their Notes.
