I think it is unlikely that Sir Michael
will be questioned about affairs outside his field but he should if possible avoid comment on relations with China and especially the question of the release of "confrontation"
prisoners in Hong Kong in exchange for Grey and other British subjects held in
China. do not think there is any subject
that we would especially wish Sir Michael to "plug" at the moment.
