be kept as short as possible.
4.
Clearance
The Departments shown as responsible for preparing the
briefs should clear them with other departments in Whitehall
as necessary, and should send copies to them.
5.
Submission
Thirty copies of the final versions of the briefs should
reach Mr. Shears (Far East and Pacific Department) by 6.0 p.m.
on Monday 25 March. The stencils should be retained.
Mr. Shears will distribute copies to Private Offices, the
appropriate Under-Secretaries, No. 10, the Foreign Office, the
Ministry of Defence, and the Cabinet Office.
6.
Departments should inform Mr. Blair if there are other
subjects on which they consider the Secretary of State should
be briefed.
