Sir,
I have the honour to inform you that I have
appointed Dr. CHUNG Sze-yuen, JP, provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be temporarily an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council with effect from 5th August, during the absence from the Colony of Mr. SZETO Wai.

Dr. Chung's previous provisional appointment, referred to in my Despatch No.1384 dated 20th July, expired on 4th August. following the return of Mr. P.Y. Tang.
