I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed the following, provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be Official Members of the Legislative Council:-

Mr. G.F. Norton, J.P., Deputy Director of Public Works (Building) who will be acting as Director of Public Works during the absence from the Colony of Mr. A.M.J. Wright, with effect from 30th March 1968;
Mr. D.R.W. Alexander, M.B.E., J.P., who will become Director of Urban Services and Chairman of the Urban Council in place of Mr. G.M. Tingle who has resigned his seat in the Legislative Council at my request with effect from 1st April 1968 prior to his retirement from the Public Service.
Mr. Alexander's, previous provisional appointment referred to in your Despatch No: 1839 dated 5th September 1960 expired on 22nd November 1960 following the return of Mr. C.G.M. Morrison.
Mr. A.T. Clark, J.F. an Administrative Officer Staff Grade B2, and Director of Social Welfare- designate in the place of Mr. A. Todd who has resigned at my request with effect from 1st April 1968.
Copies of the Instruments of Appointment in respect of the above and the Gazette Notices promulgating the appointments are attached.
