IN VIRTUE OF POWERS vested in me,
1, DAVID CLIVE CROSHIE TRENCH, Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, upon whom has
been conferred the Decoration of the Military Cross, Governor and
Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same, in accordance with instructions received
from Her Majesty the Queen through the Right Honourable the Secretary
of State for Commonwealth Affairs, do by these presents appoint you
DAVID RICHARD WATSON ALEXANDER
Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Justice of
the Fence, to be an Official Member of the Legislative Council of Hong
Kong with effect from 1st July, 1868 until 30th June, 1969, both days
inclusive.
