I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed Dr Gerald Hugh CHOA, JP, provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be an Official Member of the Legislative Council from 26th September to 18th November, 1968 during the absence from the Colony of Dr. TENG Pin-hui, CMG, OBE, JP.

Dr. Choa who has not previously served on the Legislative Council is acting as Director of Medical & Health Services during the absence of Dr. Teng.

Copies of the Instrument of Appointment in respect of Dr Choa and of the Gazette Notice promulgating his appointment are attached.
