Reference....
Please refer to my minute of 18 April about
the Secretary of State's meeting with the Hong Kong
Association which had been arranged for next Monday,
29 April.
2.
As I told your Personal Assistant this afternoon,
the Association have cancelled this meeting. Mr. Bush
the Secretary, rang me today to say that following
a meeting of his Committee it had been decided that
the Association's views could be adequately conveyed
to the Secretary of State in a letter (which is now
on its way to us) and that a meeting would not be
necessary.
3. There is of course now no need for a brief for
the Secretary of State.
