WATER REPELLENT
Protects Masonry Against Staining
APPLIED by brushing, spraying or flooding a new American-made water repellent is designed to protect masonry against staining.
Known as Dow Corning 773, the repellent is supplied as a 33 per cent solution in Stoddard solvent.

It is
a
effective when applied over cement- based paints and can be used as primer for other masonry paints to improve adhesion and extend paint life.
The repellent covers between 75 and 150 sq. ft. per gallon, depending on the porosity of the surface.

GROUT
Germicidal Ingredient Suits Hospital Applications
PRODUCED as a two-part mixture with a white epoxy resin base, E.1149 grout is said to combine flexibility with good adhesion. One of the mixes contains an oil with germicidal pro- perties, making the grout suitable for applications where hygiene is impor- tant, such as hospitals and catering establishments.
Supplied in separate cans, contain- ing 1 pt.. ! qt. or 1 gal. each of parts A and B, the grout is mixed in a container before being packed in dis- posable cardboard cartridges and loaded into a standard caulking gun.
It is applied by forcing the grout into the gaps between tiles, the nozzle of the caulking gun being pressed

Applying E.1149 grout firmly against them and moved at a constant speed. Any surplus is re- moved before curing by wiping with a cloth moistened in a weak soap or detergent solution. Coverage is es- timated at between 50 and 80 sq. yd. per gal. of the mix. Grouted joints are said to be usable after 24 hr.

Available in three sizes. 22 in. by 16 in.. 25 in. by 18 in. and 27 in. by 22 in.. the Wessex hand-basin has a bowl 8% or 8% in. deep. It is sup- plied for mounting on concealed hangers with a G 1050 Nuastyle mixer. pop-up waste, trap to wall and Markfram stopcock. Two variants are available, the Wessdale, with curved pedestal, and the Wessped. mounted on a slim, tapered, Cen- treped pedestal.
The Dovex basin has in 8 in.- deep oval bowl and measures 24 in. long by 20 in. wide: it can also be supplied, as the Dovedale, with a pedestal support. Fittings are similar to those on the Wessex.
Both the Unisyla siphonic and Unitaria non-siphonic w.c. units have white pans, seats and cistern covers: all exterior surfaces are coloured. The Unisyla is supplied with Vacumatic double S-, P- or turned P- trap, with or without vent, a 2, 21⁄2 or 3 gal. cistern and Silon waterwaste prevent- ing fittings. The Unitaria is basical- ly similar, except that it is fitted with only an S or a P-trap and can be adapted to take the Dual-Flush cis- tern,
Fittings on the two larger bidets. the Oriana and Ortrina, include a B206 Nuastyle mixer, transfer valve to rim or douche, pop-up waste, and Domex floor screws. The two models differ, however, in that the fittings on the Oriana are concealed by remov- able side shields and the height of the Ortrina allows a 3 in. seal trap to be fitted clear of the floor. Respective overall dimensions are: Oriana. 151⁄2 in. high by 141⁄2 in. wide by 23 in. deep: Ortrina, 161⁄2 in. by 141⁄2 in. by 23 in. deep.

Detachable Cleaning Heads Scrub, Shampoo and Polish
THE ENSIGN floor cleaner performs a wide variety of floor maintenance services. Cleaning heads for scrub- bing, shampooing and polishing are held in position by driving dises with opposed chamfered faces and can be interchanged readily by push and and twist action.
Power comes from a 1⁄2 h.p., con- tinuously rated, 220/240-v. a.c. d.c. motor housed in a drum-shaped casing. 11 in. high by 13 in. in dia. Attached to the casing is a 4 ft. long handle. pivoted at the base and terminating in a handlebar unit which incorporates manual controls for the water supply and cleaning heads.
