GOODS manufactured solely in Thailand are to be exhibited in the Thai Hall, which covers an area of 2,000 square metres. Though built by modern structural methods the hall follows the design form and character
of early Thai architecture.
Foundations, Reinforced concrete. Prestressed concrete piles.
Framework. Reinforced concrete. Steel roof trusses covered with red corrugated asbestos cement tiles, made in Thailand.
Cladding. Exterior walls are cover- ed with Thai glazed tiles and the en- trance doors are emphasised with coloured glass borders. Air movement within the building has been improved by the installation of windows be- neath the roof beams.
Finishes. Interior walls are surfac- ed with Thai Teako boards.
