THE NEW-TERRITORIES
Within its limited area the New Territories, which com- prises the northern area of the Colony of Hong Kong, offers a variety of scenic beauty which may be favourably compared with almost any part of the world. As one travels along the 56 miles of the main highway, the view changes from moun- tain to plain and from plain to mountain again in an ever changing panorama.
For a good deal of its length the road runs along the waterways offering some beautiful aspects of the Harbour of Hong Kong itself. of Deep Bay which forms part of the Pearl River Delta, or of Tolo Harbour or Tide Cove which forms part of the Mirs Bay District.
At any time of the day or of the year, the colouring and lighting effects are a pleasure to the eye and a satisfaction to the soul.
