View from the Road
There has recently been completed on R.B.L.163 on Island Road. between the junction of Repulse Bay and Deepwater Bay, a very attractive modern private residence designed by Mr. Kuo Yuan-Hsih. Situated well below the island Road level, it is reached by a steep but wide and easily traversed roadway. This road terminates at a very spacious area, one side of which gives access to the two large garages, whilst the other end leads to the very attractive porticoed entranceway to the house. The arrangement is such as to allow easy manoeuvring of cars at the foot of the steep roadway.
The main architectural feature of the main facade of the house is a wide all-glass panel to the staircase which rises the full height of the building from the basement to the top floor.

From the entrance portico a trellis covered way curves up the natural slope of the ground and leads into the garden, which is being specially landscaped to conform with the formal dignity of the building itself,
The contours of the site are such that the garage at the ground floor level has had to be built on reinforced concrete columns allowing the space beneath it to be converted into open storage space of ample proportions. The plan of the house has also been made to conform with the contours of the ground, resulting in an unusual shaped dining and living room area, details of which are shown on the plan.
