In addition to the direct manufacturing areas, space has been provided for an officient laboratory where each step of manufacturing can be tested and regulated, and with adminis- trative offices for staff and executives. The office accom- modation, which is situated on the ground floor at the south- west end of the building, comprises spacious general offices, reception rooms, sales and advertising assembly hall, etc.,

while, behind the offices is a separate entrance for employees, facilitating staff control.
The welfare of the workers has been provided for with ample ablution and changing rooms, with a recreation hall where they can enjoy meals and other periods of leisure, and by the provision of a fully equipped clinic with a resident doctor and nurse to carry out periodical inspection of person- nel and where emergencies of any kind can be efficiently hand- led.

Included in the factory building are four flats of modern design for managers and staff. Each flat contains living room, dining room and two bedrooms each with bathroom, a study, large pantry, kitchen and store room. The servants quarters are located at the rear with separate showers, lavatories, kitchens and verandahs.
The designer of the building is Mr. A. V. Alvares, one of the architects of Messrs. Credit Foncier d'Extreme-Orient, who made a special trip to Manila to study the latest develop- ments and plant layouts for this type of factory,
