FLOAT
-the new glass with true clarity
FLOAT is now in full production. FLOAT, the glass which was a world-wide sensation when it was announced by Pilkingtons in 1959. Devised and developed by Pilkingtons in a £4m, seven-year project FLOAT marked the biggest advance in glass-making of the century. Here is a glass with a lustrous fire finish and perfectly parallel faces for real clarity, and true undistorted vision.
Supplies of FLOAT-in 1′′ substance and sizes up to 90′′ x 175′′—are available through the usual trade channels. Specify FLOAT for quality glazing.
6,000 sq. ft. of Flout Glass were used in the glazing of the new British Embassy building. Washington.

HOW FLOAT IS MADE
In the Float process the continuous ribbon of glass passes from the furnace to float on the surface of a molten metal at a controlled temperature. It emerges perfectly flat and distortion-free with a brilliant lustrous finish on both sides.
Supplies of all Pilkington products are available through your usual glass merchant, but in case of difficulty please consult SHEWAN, TOMES (TRADERS) LTD. Union House, Hong Kong. Telephone: 27781
