provision has been made for televi- sion cameras to operate.

Air-conditioned dressing rooms will be available to cater for all teams in large international com- petitions. There will also be a

restaurant.

Special attention has been paid to the acoustics to avoid noises normal- ly associated with public assemblies in large auditoriums. There will be an amplifying system of a low-level type arranged in such a way that there will be a loud speaker directly

in front of each small section of spectators.

In addition, the ceiling will he lined with special acoustic material to eliminate echoes. The floor will be specially sprung on rubber.

Apart from the present car park in Davidson Road, an extra car park and bus park will be provided.

The Stadium will be excavated from the ground, both to reduce expenditure and to avoid the build- ing of suspended seating. As in the Merdeka Stadium the seats will rest

on the ground.

The architecture of Stadium Negara will be designed to har monise with the nearby Merdeka Stadium. There will be extensive use of Malayan timbers in the building to which entry from Davidson Road will lead into a large and impressive foyer.

Traditional Malay designs will be incorporated, including two external murals in black fretted timber sym- bolising culture and sport. There will also be murals in the foyer depicting various sports.
