The new building will have two 5 ft. wide staircases. The main staircase is located behind the lifts on the southeast boundary, while the secondary staircase opens onto Stanley St.
To lend interest to the sky-line silhouette, the water storage tank is designed as a tall ellipsoid linked up with the lift machine room by a concrete concertina slab. the latter forming a roof to the penthouse flat which opens out to a rock gar- den on the main roof.
Owner of the property is Mr. Cheng Chung Shu. Construction is getting underway this month and if no piling difficulties are encounter- ed the work should be completed by April next year.

Main aims of the Society are: To foster and promote the prestige of building contractors and to im- plement a code of ethics for the building fraternity.
To improve building techniques. To bring about a closer relation- ship and better understanding among builders, and between engineers. architects and surveyors and the building fraternity.
To strive for a standard form of building contracts.
To work for a standard method of measurement of building works for use in Hong Kong.
To co-operate with the Building Contractors' Association Ltd., of Hong Kong.
