DEEPWATER BAYĮDEVELOPMENT

EFFE

The architect's sketch of the main building of the estate with the typical floor plan below it.

One of the most interesting residential developments is scheduled to take place on the slopes of the hills to the north of Deepwater Bay Golf Course. The project consists of ten, possibly eleven, sites each averaging 16,500 square feet, on nine of which will be placed individual bungalows whilst on the tenth there will be erected a two-story staff house.

The project, which is in the hands of Mr. P. L. L. Biau, will be for the benefit of the staff of Cable & Wireless Ltd., and when completed will truly be a model of residential construction and a monument to the public- spiritedness of the local branch of this important national enterprise.

The site formation work of this hillside development in itself will be of formidable proportions since it com- prises not only the levelling of the large number of sites, but the building of the main access road together with individual approach roads, the whole layout being designed to result in a natural and attractive grouping of the build- ings with relation to the contours of the hills and with the object of giving each house an orientation which will bring to it the full benefit of south and south-easterly breezes,

The indivi- dual feeder road from each bungalow is shown as shaded area
