Coming to the Colony in 1950 he was admitted on examination, to H.M. Ministry of Works, Far East Head- quarters. A year later he joined the Public Works Department where, for the past seven years as an Assistant Ar- chitect, he has gained extensive local experience.

Amongst the works supervised by Mr. Wong during his service with Government, some of which have been described in earlier issues of the H.K. & Far East Builder, are:

The Shataukok Police Station (1952-53); the Electrical & Mechanical Workshops, Caroline Hill (1952-54); Rank & File Married Quarters, and Officers' Married Quarters, Western Police Station (1955). Kam Tin Police Station, Kowloon Fire Station etc.

An apartment building to be built at Ho Tung Road, Kowloon.

Mr. Wong was also for a time, a the member of the team working on detailing for the proposed New Kow- loon Hospital of 1,200 beds. The model exhibited by Government in the last Festival of Arts was designed and built by him.

In recognition of his ability in both architecture and civil engineering he was elected in 1957 to be an Asso- ciate Member of the American Society. of Civil Engineers
