Main kitchen - preparation area.
The occupational therapy work rooms provide facilities for such as leather. rattan and woodwork and appropriate stores.
The physiotherapy sub-department includes areas for hydrotherapy. wax. heat. light and other therapy machines in addition to a large gymnasium.
These areas have all been fitted Gut with carefully designed pro- visions for removable overhead suspension. resistance bars. parallel walking bars. wall bars and many other special items of equipment.
The hydrotherapy section includes two pools with special lifting and other fully adjustable equipment and is served by a re-circulating chlori- nating and heating plumbing system.
The enclosed areas are all fully air-conditioned to include summer cooling but in addition large covered areas are provided for patients and staff training outdoor exercises.
DENTAL
The two dental suites and labora- tory are equipped for all types of work. In addition there are special X-ray units provided at the same level in the Radiology Department.

The total cost of the complete pro- ject was in the order of $70 million (£4,375.000) a remarkably low figure when the full extent of the scheme is appreciated.
Accommodation for 11 sisters and 150 nurses. together with a nurses training school. were first provided at a total cost of $53 mil- lion (£360.0001 on a site adjoining the main hospital site. Before com- pletion of this contract. further con- tracts were under way on the main site for site clearance, basement excavation. piling and construction of basement up to lower ground floor glab.
