▲ Signal Hill Flats, Jesselton. A block of Twelve flats for Government officers de- signed for the North Borneo Government by Palmer & Turner of Singapore. Com- pleted in mid 1959, the flats comprise two bedrooms plus a study / bedroom, with servants' quarters in a linked wing forming the base of the "T". Construction is of reinforced concrete with infill panels of bricks, plastered. Sun control on the verandahs is by Crittalls vertical louvres. All windows in the block are by Crittalls. Electrical fittings are by British G.E.C. The block of flats stands on Signal Hill over- looking the whole of Jesselton shopping area and the wharf-the flats are the first thing a visitor to Jesselton by sea can see, looming above the low-lying town.
