The Shui Hing Co., Ltd.'s new 12- storey store and office building at 23 25 Nathan Road. Kowloon, is a showpiece of design created by two architects -one local. one Italian. who combined their talents to pro- duce something new in this Colony.
The building has three outstanding features an unusual modern façade of Italian flavour, a split level floor layout and a complete absence of internal columns across its some 60- ft. width.
The façade was designed by the world-famous Italian architect, Signor Gio Ponti. whilst the split level ar- rangement was conceived by Mr. F. de P. Baptista, of Harriman Realty Co., Ltd. The structural design was carried out by the engineers of Har- riman Realty Co., Ltd.. under the direction of Mr. D. C. Ling.
