House of Representatives, fashioned in pleated folds of pre-cast concrete.
In front of the building rises a 20-level tower block. 253 feet high, containing individual offices for the various ministers and for each mem- bers of the Upper and Lower Houses. At the second floor level. a covered grandstand is cantilevered out from the front of this tower to overlook the terrace. where cere- monial parades will be mounted. To the left of this prospect from the grandstand is located a permanent structure to shelter invited guests watching the ceremonials.
Topping the 15 floors of office space in the tower block is an open- sided terrace floor commanding a magnificent prospect, on all sides. of the surrounding capital. Here in formal receptions will be staged with the night skyline and the sil houette of distant hills serving as a backcloth. Two further storeys. providing a windowless slab to Crown The tower structure. house plant rooms. water tanks and the machinery to drive the two lifts for the building.
