hall which is carried mezzanine-like around the wide
circular stairwell from which the doors lead off to
the main part of the house in which are placed the
various bedrooms. The photographs of the reception hall illustrate the effect which we have attempted to
describe and as will be seen from the plans, the actual
size of this hall is out of all proportion to the illusive
size it presents from certain aspects. It seems
enlarged greatly beyond its actual dimensions.
On the ground floor are placed the dining room,
living room and library, the windows of each running
along the full length of one wall. Needless to say, the brightness and airiness provided by this arrangement far surpasses anything that is usually planned for

The first floor contains three bedrooms
in addition to the master bedroom, and the
verandahs and terraces of the front elevations
provide ample sitting-out places over-looking
the magnificent scenery of the Repulse Bay
area.
The building which was recently completed
is owned and occupied by Dr. Lee Shiu Kee,
the Architect being Mr. G. Van Wylick of
Messrs. Credit Foncier d'Extreme-Orient. The
General Contractor is Messrs. Mei On & Co.
The sanitary fittings were supplied by Messrs.
Lee Yu Kee, who also carried out the plumbing and drainage work. The electrical fittings were supplied
by The General Electric Co. (China), Ltd., while the
flourescent lighting and electrical installation work
were done by Messrs. Jardine Engineering Corp.,
Ltd. All steel windows were supplied by The Hong
Kong Metal Window Mfg. Co.
