Two views of the recently completed building.

Architects who are responsible for the designing of a great number of residences and who wish to avoid the label of standardization being applied to their work, must be hard put occasionally for original ideas or novel arrangements which could be used to vary their previous layouts and styles. From the planning of this magni-

ficent residence one must come to the conclusion that the architect who designed it suffered from no such difficulty. The inspiration of the design of this house is the ingenuity with which the reception hall has been made the central theme of its design and the manner in which the house appears to have been built around it.

As far as the interior arrangement is concerned, it is a house most difficult to describe, as from one point of view it appears to be low ceilinged, while from another angle the ceiling seems to rise two storeys in height. The designing has been so cleverly done that every viewpoint

seems to offer 1 different

aspect.
