In the nave glazed doors and high level windows on either side provide the necessary cross-ventilation; and to protect members of the congregation from glare there is a cloister leading to a large open terrace and various rooms of the Student Christain Centre.
The accommodation in the two lower floors includes a small chapel, rectory, three seminar rooms, biblical reading room, students' lounge, kit- chen, stores and offices.
So that the external character of the chapel will blend with the other build- ings on the campus, similar stone is to be mainly used for the facing material.
Estimated cost of the chapel is $600,000. It is to be situated 011 about 14,000 sq.ft. of land which the College authorities have purchased from farmers.
Further purchases are planned to give the chapel an even more spacious setting.
This is additional to the 10 acres the Govenment gave in 1953 as the per- manent campus site when the College was brought into being to give refugee and Middle School students similar opportunities for higher education in Chinese as those afforded to English- speaking students by the University of Hong Kong.
