Built at a cost of $8 million, the structure houses 120 apartments six to a floor. Each has an area of just over 2,000 square feet and, with- out exception, a magnificent panora mic seaview. Three bedrooms, two with connecting bathrooms are cen- tred around a 50 feet long dining living area which runs the width of each flat and onto the balcony, Ser- vants' quarters pantry and utility areas are grouped in the short wings at the rear of the building. Seawater flushing, which means round the year service, is provided.

Construction

Rather than spend money biting into the steeply inclined, hard rock site

an expensive job the architects decided upon the stepped raft type of foundation often used in hilly Hong Kong.

This still cost about $750,000, but allowed for a ground floor parking and storage area. a projecting ob- servation and playground platform and space for the drainage systems.
