three

apartment blocks being built at 39 Stubbs Road, on Hong Kong island. will bring a new concept of de-luxe living to Hong Kong.

The two outside blocks will con- tain split level apartments - built on a honeycomb arrangement (see diagram). Flats in the centre block are on one level.

Each unit will be divided into three distinct levels dining room.

The honeycomb planning. the highlight of the project. will provide apartments with convenience of flats and the atmosphere and spaciousness of houses.

There will be none of the high stairs of a storied house or the long corridors of a conventional flat. The difference in height between the levels is only a little over five feet.

The 180ft. high buildings occupy only 15 per cent of the 110.000 sq. ft. site, leaving 85,000 sq. ft. for a landscaped lawn, wading pool. orien- tal garden and garage.

And there will be a total of only 70 units in the three blocks.

The location is ideal. Situated in woods overlooking Happy Valley. the grounds command an excellent view of the harbour. All living. dining and master bedrooms. includ- ing those on the ground floor will have harbour views.

The buildings are of sheer wall, reinforced concrete construction.

In addition to the extra space this type of construction provides, a great saving in elevator lobby space will be possible with the split level blocks.
