THIS CENTRIFUGAL WATER CHILLER IS AN ENGINEERING BREAKTHROUGH IN REFRIGERATING EQUIPMENT
The new "Tonrac" is completely automatic in its operation and weighs only 6,700 pounds. It is compact-goes in through a 36′′ doorway. It is completely factory-assembled including insulation, auxiliary piping and controls. Just make main water-pipe and electrical connections, add refrigerant, and "Tonrac" is ready to operate.
The centrifugal compressor means smoother, quieter operation, no metal-to- metal wear, fewer parts, less maintenance, plus infinite capacity control over its entire operating range.
A revolutionary electric motor drives the compressor at 18,000 RPM. All heat gener- ated by the motor is removed by refrigerant
changing state in the presence of the motor windings.
The compressor motor operates on 480- volt, 3-phase, 300-cycle output from a power unit equally applicable to most 50 or 60- cycle line currents. Since the power unit is separate, the hermetically sealed construc- tion of the refrigeration unit is maintained, regardless of power source. If desired, the power unit may be located remote from the "Tonrac," or two "Tonracs" may be operated from one power source.
Available in 50- to 100-ton refrigeration capacity, this unit is ideal as a central chilled-water plant for hospitals, hotels, of- fice buildings, schools and industrial plants.
