The C550A is the latest addition to Hyster's high per- formance pneumatic compacters-the most powerful offered. Its new 97 HP diesel engine, working through a new powershift forward-reverse and 3-speed manual transmission, develops 202 ft. lbs. of torque at 1500 RPM. It gives the C550A a 16 MPH top speed with plenty of lugging power for rolling deep lifts and loose materi- als. This compacter's ability to roll embankment and base as well as finish materials can give you maximum utility from your equipment investment.
Centerpoint steering combined with 4 inches of vertical oscillation in each of the 9 wheels provides full wheel coverage, eliminates bridging and scuffing and enables the C550A to roll around a 9-foot curb radius in a single continuous pass. The operator has an excellent view of his outside wheels from the center-facing seats. Equip- ment options include a cockpit-controlled water spray
system for tire cleaning and on-the-go tire inflation that develops up to 89 PSI ground contact pressures (up to 102 PSI with tire options). For full information, see your Hyster dealer.
