THE new Johore Bahru branch of

the Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation. which was recently opened by the Sultan of Johore, stands architecturally as one of the most distinctive additions to the re- cent surge of buildings in Johore Bahru.

Rising six storeys high and built at a cost of M$1.5 million, the build- ing was designed by the architects. Booty. Edwards and Partners not

only to serve as a suitable represen- tation of a great banking corpora- tion, but also to achieve a standard of layout and design to make the building a prominent landmark of which Johore Bahru may be justly proud.

Thus it stands today on a site of 10.000 square feet. bounded by three roads in the heart of the commercial district: Jalan Ibrahim. Jalan Seg- get and Jalan Tan Hiyok Vee.
