room, sick bay, tea preparation room, store rooms, changing rooms and lavatories.

Most of the buildings are two storeys high, so that a large propor- tion of the six acre site is left free for playing areas and for gardens, giving a relaxed and airy feeling to the whole enterprise.

A simple but effect porch en- trance in the main administrative block sets a dignified key the school. Immediately above the porch is a pattern of concrete grilles, whose discreet proportions make a con- trast to the vertical pattern of the fenestration of the whole block and the horizontal effect of the block in the background.

All materials, exterior and in- terior, have been chosen with the two aims of durability in a testing climate and to easy and cheap main-

tenance.
